StaySpark is committed to making our platform and the websites we generate accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities.
1. Our Commitment
We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA for both:
- stayspark.io — Our main platform and host dashboard
- Host-generated websites — The direct booking websites we create for hosts
2. Current Status
StaySpark is in active development (beta). We are working toward full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, but we acknowledge that some areas may not yet meet all standards. Here's where we stand:
What We're Doing Well
- Semantic HTML structure on generated websites
- Keyboard navigation support
- Alt text support for property images
- Sufficient color contrast in our default templates
- Responsive design for all screen sizes
- Form labels and error messages
Known Limitations
- Some interactive elements in the host dashboard may not yet be fully keyboard-accessible
- The booking engine calendar widget may have limited screen reader support
- AI-generated content may not always include optimal alt text (we're improving this)
- Some third-party components (Stripe checkout) have their own accessibility characteristics
3. What We're Doing About It
- Incorporating accessibility testing into our development process
- Using automated accessibility scanning tools
- Prioritizing accessibility improvements in our roadmap
- Ensuring new features are built with accessibility in mind from the start
- Improving AI-generated alt text for property images
4. Host Responsibilities
If you're a host using StaySpark, you can help ensure your site is accessible:
- Add descriptive alt text when uploading property photos
- Write clear, descriptive property listings
- Ensure your guidebook content is well-structured
5. Feedback & Issues
We want to hear from you. If you encounter an accessibility barrier on StaySpark or a StaySpark-generated website:
- Email: support@stayspark.io (subject: "Accessibility Issue")
- What to include: The page URL, a description of the issue, what assistive technology you're using (if applicable), and how we can reproduce the problem
We aim to respond to accessibility reports within 5 business days and resolve issues as quickly as possible.
6. Third-Party Content
StaySpark integrates with third-party services (Stripe for payments, Umami Analytics and Microsoft Clarity for analytics). While we choose partners who take accessibility seriously, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of their components. We encourage you to report any issues and we'll work with our partners to address them.
